Weddings are 'that' event you get to buy a new outfit for, every time an invite pops through the door the words 'NEW SHOES' appear in front of my eyes along with the clear proclamation of united love that I hold in my hands.Everyone gets a new set of togs for a wedding from the bride and groom to the third cousin twice removed. After all, those photos last a lifetime!
On the 23rd of January me and Hugo were very blessed to attend the wedding of our lovely friend's Lois and Andrew (see photo) Now this is far from the first wedding I have attended but it is the first i have attended without purchasing a single new item of adornment. When their invite came i had to have a think about what to reuse rather than what to buy. With trepidation i decided to re-wear with a couple of tweaks two dresses I have worn to other weddings. The day came and I donned dress one and actually I LOVED it.
Yes, you heard me right I loved re-wearing things I have already worn to other weddings!
Why? Well you know when you find something you love for a big event and everyone gives you lovely complements on it, so many in fact that the next day when you go back to jeans and a jumper you deeply regret ever having ever taken it off. Well I got to put them back on again and I got no less complements and I didn't feel silly I just felt pleased those pretty dresses got another chance at the limelight :)

The First Time around
|
I first wore the pink one to Dan and Jenny's wedding October 2012 (My Hugo's brother and his wife's wedding) |
|
I first wore the Oasis one to my friend Kate and her hubby Euan's wedding in July 2012. |
So in conclusion you don't need to get rid of a 'special' piece after just one wear, second time around is just as good as the first. Fingers crossed I still feel the same after wedding number two of 2014 :)
