Outfits.

Some things i've worn of late.

Here are a few of the things i have worn in the last few weeks and some pics from my scrapbook that provided the inspiration, I will try to take more pics this month and better quality but i feared that you would all get bored of shots of me in my PJ's as that's what I've been wearing most in the last few weeks with feeling so rubbish. Thankfully on Tuesday the source of my poorly ways has been discovered (I've a blood Iron count of  7). Phew so some rest and some Iron and i will be back to feeling better in a few weeks :).

Wear It Red day 2014

Today we had a ramp up the red day for work in aid of the British Heart Foundation so i thought id share my outfit which i donated my £1 to wear (I also made a giant wheat and gluten free 'Romantic Traybake', Romantic in that it had dried rose petals on <3, to sell and not one square was left so it must have been yummy). If you have any events at work or in your area id recommend getting involved its fun but also for a great cause.

Happy Valentines for tomorrow Everyone!!! I love you all :)

Disaster Strikes.

Eeeeek!!!!

I was in a hurry. Hugo was waiting for me and id been nattering to long in the bank, so out I rushed into the street and BAM!!! Nose over Tail I went, down two steps and landed in a pile at the bottom of the steps.

The source of this ungainly fall? My little brown boots, the poor wee things had finally given up the ghost. The right shoes sole was completely hanging off all the way to the heel. So i began a sorry limp along Princes Street while the clouds emptied themselves on me and my now one bare foot.

So in order to save me from certain chilblains new ankle boots were purchased in urban outfitters, so yes technically i have bought a new item but its safe to say going home with one bare foot in Scotland can be classed as an emergency :)

These are the boots i procured to keep my feet dry and frostbite free untill i got home.

see practical and they have soles!!!

Wedding's!

Weddings are 'that' event you get to buy a new outfit for, every time an invite pops through the door the words 'NEW SHOES' appear in front of my eyes along with the clear proclamation of united love that I hold in my hands.Everyone gets a new set of togs for a wedding from the bride and groom to the third cousin twice removed. After all, those photos last a lifetime!

On the 23rd of January me and Hugo were very blessed to attend the wedding of our lovely friend's Lois and Andrew (see photo) Now this is far from the first wedding I have attended but it is the first i have attended without purchasing a single new item of adornment. When their invite came i had to have a think about what to reuse rather than what to buy. With trepidation i decided to re-wear with a couple of tweaks two dresses I have worn to other weddings. The day came and I donned dress one and actually I LOVED it.

Yes, you heard me right I loved re-wearing things I have already worn to other weddings!

Why? Well you know when you find something you love for a big event and everyone gives you lovely complements on it, so many in fact that the next day when you go back to jeans and a jumper you deeply regret ever having ever taken it off. Well I got to put them back on again and I got no less complements and I didn't feel silly I just felt pleased those pretty dresses got another chance at the limelight :)

The Outfits
Vintage dress and matching jacket £3.00 for the set from a charity shop with New look bag and Miss Selfridge Pumps

Vintage cozy fur coat

After a great day and much dancing i forgot to take a full length pic of this dress but this is the top half and below you can see how it all looked together off.
the furry cropped jacket is from River Island
The First Time around
I first wore the pink one to Dan and Jenny's wedding October 2012 (My Hugo's brother and his wife's wedding)

I first wore the Oasis one to my friend Kate and her hubby Euan's wedding in July 2012.
So in conclusion you don't need to get rid of a 'special' piece after just one wear, second time around is just as good as the first. Fingers crossed I still feel the same after wedding number two of 2014 :)

The History

History
So a lot of people have been asking me why?? why take on this challenge?
The answer goes back a few years. After following another blog, which no longer exists :( (What Katie Wore) the premise of which was that Katie would wear a different outfit everyday and post them online.
Me and my friends, Sarah and Laura decided we fancied trying to be more creative with our wardrobe and set a challenge to save us money (we were poor students at the time) and to get our creativity flowing. We decided that for 12 weeks we would wear a different outfit everyday and that we wouldn't buy any new clothes (do you see a similarity with this current challenge?!?) Its safe to say that at the end of the 12 weeks i had only used a small fragment of my wardrobe and both Sarah and Laura joked that i could have carried on for a year. So that was in 2009 and this year 2014 that year has come, sort of :)
I thought i would share with you some of the outfits i have worn over the last 5 years Enjoy :)
